My favourite Story

Here is the story, which happens to be my favorite since a long time. The teachings are so real life. Although I read the brief version of it in one of my friend’s blog, am sharing with you all- the one I read many years ago (along with my own additions!).

A long long time ago, there was an unconventional young swallow. Swallows are the migratory birds that migrate to south every winter. Hence, at the arrival of winter that year, when each bird was preparing to take off, our hero swallow was thinking, “Why should I follow others? I guess I am sufficient to take care of myself in a tiny winter.”

But as we all know, winter is never so tiny. So while every bird had taken off, leaving aside the “smart” one, cold barged in. The swallow realized his mistake after a while, that he might not be so sufficient after all. So even he prepared to take off.

On his way full of struggles, he was caught in a particular blizzard. His wings froze with ice on them, and unable to fly, the swallow dropped down.

“Damn” he thought, “If only I could make it a bit more! Now I cant fly….I am gonna die. Life has been most unfair to me.”

And while he was crying in such manner, a herd of cows passed by. One of the cows dumped on the fellow swallow. His grief only aggravated, “Great! Now I will have to die in a pile of shit!” But unexpectedly (or expectedly), the warmth of the cow dung melted the ice on swallow’s wings. It gave him sufficient energy to fly and ultimately make it.

The swallow was full of Joy. He started chirping “I am alive! I am alive! I am going to succeed!”

Just then there was a cat passing from the way. It heard the chirping. Locating the swallow, the cat took him out of the dung, and well……Ate him!

The End.

The moral of the story:

  • God may have a better plan whenever he places us in a pile of ****. So do not complain.
  • Not everyone who shits on us is our enemy.
  •  Not everyone who takes us out of the shit is our friend.

And the last but not the least…

  • When you are happy that you are gonna make it, keep your mouth shut.

With love, to all my fellow Swallows….
